Diablo II LoD Tips

Here I will post some nice tips for DiabloII LoD. At the bottom are some links to other pages for more tips.

MY BARBARIAN!!!

Magic Find Tips

Although many say that a sorceress or an amazon is the best to MF(magic-find) with, I would have to dissagree. Although they can stand back and hit the enemy from a-far, a barbarian can hold two weapons, I.E.: two Ali Baba's; two six-socketed weapons with high magic find; and so forth. Although barbarians may die alot, try to get an amulet with leech and MF if you can. If you just plain don't like barbarians, then use whatever character suits you.

Try to get at least 300 Mf on your character. With 300 MF, you have a pretty equal chance to get any type of item. Try to get the highest MF that you can. The higher, the better.

Some of the best people to kill to get items are: Mephisto (Nightmare; Hell), Diablo (Nightmare; Hell), Baal (Nightmare; Hell), Pindleskin(Hell), Frozenstein(Hell), all of Tristam and Stony Field(Hell), Council in Travincal(Hell), and Cows(Hell). A lot of people hear about Frozenstein and Pindleskin but don't know where they are located. Pindlskin is right through the red-portal after you rescue Anya. Frozenstein is the Yeti-looking monster right before you rescue Anya.

There is a trick, it might just be luck, but it seems the longer I don't play Diablo, the better drops I get when I MF next. I.E.: when I didn't play for two days, I went on and MFed and got Baranar's Devil Star(elite class one-handed mace), and Lightsabre(elite class sword) in 10 minutes. If you don't find anything the first few MF runs, keep trying, don't give up, I didn't.

The most important thing to know, is never give up. Keep trying, beleive me, it pays off.

Ok here it is, my view point

Barbarians can be pretty nice characters, but when it comes to it, melee isnt the way to go.  See, when becoming a barbarian, and trying to do hell mephisto runs, you got to have quite the beefed up Barbarian just to survive.  A low level Amazon or Sorceress could do better.  Sorceresses aren't in fact ranged fighters.  Many tend to think so, but in reality, you have to be pretty close to actually get hit by one of there attacks.  Of course they aren't melee, thats a no brainer.  A sorceress can have up to 1000 mana and 1000 life.   This makes it very easy to teleport around and hit everyone with a special attack, without the fear of getting killed to easily.
Amazons aren't the best, but there damage done at ranged distances and their attack speed can usually kill quite a few without ever getting hit yourself.  Strengthening dexterity can really add up the damage, but always had a few stat points to your vitality.  In case you do get hit, you don't want to die in one hit.  Also, add a few energy stat points in the mix.  That way it is harder to run out of mana so quickly.
If you are gonna choose Amazon, remember, LEECH IS GOOD!  Since Amazons tend to not have enough life or mana, you can always use a good amount of your enemys life to help you.  For example: I killed Diablo on nightmare difficulty (standing right in front of him, taking in all of his attacks) without using 1 potion.

I hope this helps you to accept the fact that all classes have special ways to survive.
